Are cases of wine available at Wine & Roses?

Yes! Wine is available for auction in our Wine Cellar. You cannot buy wine from a vendor pouring at the event, as that would violate our alcohol license. The wine is located in the wine cellar, in the McMillin Event Center. The cases of wine, which are for auction, are organized by type. The wines are all wines which won medals at the San Diego International Wine Competition. For a listing of the wines which we expect to be available, visit the San Diego International Wine Competition web site.

What is the San Diego International Wine Competition?

The San Diego International Wine Competition (SDIWC) is a companion event to Wine & Roses. The competition attracts over 2,000 wine entries each year. The wines which are awarded medals at the event, are the wines which are sold at Wine & Roses. One of the requirements of the Competition is that if a winery’s wine wins a medal, they must donate a case of the wine to Wine & Roses. We then sell the wine at Wine & Roses, with the proceeds used to support our charities.

How can I become a Wine or Food Vendor?
Inquiries about wine and culinary partnerships with the Wine & Roses Charity Wine Tasting should be directed to San Diego International Wine Competition Director Robert Whitley at www.WhitleyOnWine@yahoo.com or SDWineCompetition@yahoo.com.

The funds generated by Wine & Roses are used to fund camperships (camp scholarships) for children who otherwise would not have the financial ability to attend summer camp, and to maintain and improve the camp.
